Wine in Umbria

Umbria is a small region producing great wines.
The excellence of Umbrian wines can be attributed to a variety of causes: the hilly orography that favours exposure to the sun, the continental but mild climate, the composition of the land, prevalently clayey-limestone, particularly suited to the production of wine.
These objectively favourable conditions have led the inhabitants of the region to devote themselves to the cultivation of vines and to the production of wine since ancient times, and today this very long, millenary tradition supports and accompanies the modern production methods and the special technical skill of the Umbrian vine-dressers.
